These are two photos of Anne Houghtaling; she was the godmother of:

  Schuyler VanRensselaer Sherman
  
  Bessie Ann Dutcher Sherman
  
  Sister Ruth Esther Sherman


Schuyler is buried next to Anne in the cemetery in Hancock, NY.

Anne is mentioned several times in the Bessie's autobiography.

She is also mentioned in Sister Ruth Esther's autobiography

Her first name may actually be "Anna", research continues.

In the photo at top, Anne is shown with "Father Donahue";
nothing is known about him at this time.

In the photo below, Anne is shown with Helen Riggs; nothing more 
is known about her at this time, except that she was obviously
a close family friend, as I found more photos of her and her son
John at his graduation among my mother's effects after she passed.

Judging by the clothing, I would guess that these photos were
both taken in the early 1940's, but that is only my guess.
