Bainbridge, New York:

Viola S. Loudon, 95, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, 
at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born Feb. 29, 1916, daughter of the late William and Helen 
(Snedeker) Sherman in East Afton, NY.

Viola graduated salutatorian with the Class of 1935, from Bainbridge High 
School. Viola was a natural artist. She loved to paint and make crafts. 

She used her abilities working at Bendix in Sidney in the drafting 
department and the material test lab.

Viola married Donald M. Loudon on July 16, 1938, in Bainbridge. He 
predeceased her on March 18, 2004. Viola and Don owned and operated 
the Dairy Bar-N and Susquenango Farms Creamery in Bainbridge.

She was a life member of the United Methodist Church in Bainbridge 
and a member of the United Methodist Women as well as the Daughters 
of the American Revolution and the Bainbridge Grange.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law:

  Nancy Ann (Loudon) and Vern Wallace, Bainbridge;
  Barbara and Clifford Crouch; 
  Guilford, Sharon and George Hunt, Bainbridge.

and her daughter, Xiemena; adopted daughter/Foreign Exchange student, 
Nympha Cruz of the Philippines;

Anthony Cataldo, Shelley Stillman, Jim Wallace, Brent and Kristin 
Davenport, Traci and Eric Lalicata, Sarah and Derek Derouin, Tim Crouch,
Sherry and Bruce Hanson, Tammy and Randy Dumond, Michelle Hunt and Joey
Perry, Heather and Mike Bachman; 

great-grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Tuttel, Harrison and Connor Davenport,
Chelsea and Tyler Pixley, Trenton and Mallory Stillman, Adam Neer, Erin
Wallace, Parker and Matthew Davenport, Madison and Cameron Derouin, Megan,
Mary and Cooper Crouch, Corey and Christy Hanson, Brian Dumond, Kelly
Norwalk, Courtney, Emily, Trevor and Ryan Bachman;

great-great-grandchildren, Blake Tuttel and Makenna and Myla Norwalk; two
brothers, Wilford and Frances Sherman, Horseheads, and Charles and Marcia
Sherman, Bainbridge; sister, Nancy and Robert Burrows, Oquaga; 

and nieces, nephews, cousins and many very special friends.

Viola was also predeceased by sisters Doris (Sherman) Wasilnak and 
Leta (Sherman) Axtell; and brother, Morrel Sherman.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at 
C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838.  

A  memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the 
United Methodist Church of Bainbridge, 27 North Main St., Bainbridge, 
NY 13733.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge.
