1908 George Truman Ward

Died: In year  1981 in Topeka, Kansas. 


His father was Unknown.

His mother was Unknown.


He was married July  3, 1931 to Mary Agnes Rothers
at Emporia, Kansas.  Shown at right are their wedding photos.

The photos were taken by the Ireland Studio in Holton,
the county seat of Jackson County, Kansas.

They made their first home in Goff, Kansas, where George worked 
as a printer's apprentice on the "Goff Advance" newspaper.

George and Mary had three children together:

  1934  Janet Joy Ward    
  1935  George Gene Ward  known as "Gene"
  1939  Ward Lee Ward     known as "Lee"  

During the Second World War Mary worked at an Ordnance Plant 
near Parsons, Kansas, where the family had moved when husband 
George went to work for Commercial Publishers.

The family moved to Topeka in 1956, and bought the little house
at 1104 West 32nd Street, where Mary continued to reside until 
her death in 2010.

Son Gene passed away prematurely in 1979, about two years before 
his father would pass away.

George worked for the "Topeka Capitol" newspaper until he passed 
away in 1981.
