Her father was 1858 Edwin R. Roberts. Her mother was 1859 Mary E. Poole. Her middle name may have been "Lesterine"; I found this name mentioned. She was married to 1886 Floyd William Dutcher. She was the mother of:1919 Homer Edwin Dutcher and 1921 Floyd Herbert Dutcher. I have not located any photo of Gertrude. In 1905 the Federal Census for Afton, Chenango County, NY shows: 1858* Edwin R. Roberts Age 48 (Head of Household), farmer 1861 Mary E. Roberts Age 46 (wife) maiden name Poole 1881 Sanna M. "Sanna" is a common Dutch name for a girl/woman. In 1920, Floyd and Gertrude, together with baby Homer, were living with Gertrude's parents, Edwin and Mary Roberts, on East Side River Road in Afton, Chenango County, New York. The household consisted of: 1858* Edwin R. Roberts Age 62 (Head of Household), farmer 1861 Mary E. Dutcher Age 60 (Father of Floyd; Homer's other Grandfather) 1905 Viola Dutcher Age 15 ("Boarder"; relationship unknown at this time) (*) Edwin may have been born in 1856; there is conflicting information. In 1925 and 1930, Gertrude was listed in the census as living with Edwin and Mary Roberts in Colesville, Broome County, NY. Gertrude is mentioned in a newspaper article which tells of the death of her son Homer in November 1944; it is stated there that Homer's mother was already deceased at that time. N.B. In January 2022 I came across new information at "Find-A-Grave.com" that Gertrude died in 1930. Her father Edwin Roberts also died in 1930; it is possible that they died together in an accident; research continues. -JAS-
