This is a transcription of the obituary of William C. Sherman as
published in the newspaper:

SHERMAN - William C. Sherman, 81 of Ouaquaga, formerly of Bainbridge,
died Wednesday at Wilson Memorial Hospital, in Johnson City. 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Sherman, Ouaquaga; four
daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Leta) Axtell, Bennettsville, Mrs. Donald
(Viola) Loudon, Bainbridge, Mrs. Michael (Doris) Waselnak, of
Johnson City, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Burrows, Ouaquaga; three sons,
Morrell Sherman, Afton; Wilford Sherman, Elmira; Charles Sherman,
Bainbridge; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. Myrtle Ward, Bainbridge; also several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ouaquaga.

He was a retired farmer and formerly a member of the Algonquin
Grange, Bainbridge.  

Funeral and committal services will he held at the F.J. Terhune
Funeral Home, 58 West Main Street, Bainbridge, Saturday at 2:00 PM.
The Reverend Thurston Shumway, pastor of the First United Methodist
Church Ouaquaga, will officiate.  Burial will be in Greenlawn
Cemetery, Bainbridge.  The family will receive friends at the
funeral home Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers
those wishing may make contributions to the First United
Methodist Church, Ouaquaga.
