AFTON - William Edwin Roberts, 77, of Afton, died Monday afternoon,
Sept. 19, 1966 at his home.

  Funeral services will be held at Osterhoudt Funeral Home in
Harpursville, on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 2:00 pm.  Rev. Clifford
Webb will officiate.  Interment will be in Nineveh Cemetary.

  Live Oak Lodge 696, IOOF, is conducting services at the funeral
home Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 8:30 pm.

  Mr. Roberts, a former resident of Nineveh, was a member of the
Nineveh Presbyterian Church, Live Oak Lodge 696 IOOF for 53 years,
and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers and Firemen.

  Before his retirement he was employed by the D&H Railroad for
over 50 years.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary (Burnett) Roberts of 
Afton; a daughter, Mrs. Theron (Rose) VanValkenburg of Afton,
a son, F. Harold Roberts of Lake Worth, Florida; a nephew,
F. Herbert Dutcher of Nineveh, a niece, Mrs. John Marnell of
Sidney; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

  The family is receiving friends at the funeral home Weds.
evening from 7:00 to 9:00 o'clock.
