1887 Forrest Myron Livingston


Born: Sep. 26, 1887 at Windsor, Broome County, NY

Died: Apr.  1, 1968 at Binghamton, Broome County, NY


His father was 1857 Myron James Livingston.

His mother was 1866 Caroline Lucretia Burhyte.


He was married June 29, 1908 to 1890 Viola Amelia Doolittle.

Forrest and Viola had five children together:

  1911 Caroline Louisa Livingston     b. Nov. 16, 1911
  1914 Helen Irene Livingston         b. Apr. 10, 1914
  1920 Bertha Livingston              b. Nov. 14, 1920
  1928 David William Livingston       b. Jan. 22, 1928
  

I think The photo at upper right was taken about 1909; if so,
Forrest was 22 years old at the time.

Forrest and his brother Minor owned and operated the Livingston 
Printing Company, at 78 Wall Street in Binghamton, which is about
where the parking garage for Boscov's Department Store sits today.
This was the case from at least 1934 to 1941, based on data found
in the Binghamton city directories from those years.  

They also employed Forrest's daughter, 1914 Helen Irene Livingston,
in the printing business as a clerk/messenger/stenographer. 

My cousin Tom, aka 1946 Thomas Patrick Livingston, remembers going
to visit the Livingston Printing Company in the early 1950's with
his family - Forrest was his great-uncle, brother of our grandfather,
Austin Livingston.  Tom's brother Ken was given a pad of paper with
the company name printed on each page, a promotional item.  Tom
remembers that his brother was very excited and happy about this.
And so, we also know that the company lasted well into the 1950's.

Here is a 1918 Group Photo of the Livingston/Burhyte
reunion held that year.  Forrest is the tall, dark-haired man in the 
back row, left of center.  We believe that the woman on his left,
wearing the hat, is his wife, 1890 Viola Amelia Doolittle.
