The Will of Job Sherman =======================

Be it remembered that at Surrogates Court at Delhi in the County of Delaware the 13 of November 1861 before Wm Gleason, Surrogate of the Town of Masonville in said county deceased was fuly proved and ws thereupon adjudged by said Surrogate to be valid and established as a Will of Real and Personal Estate and the same together with proofs taken thereon we here recorded pursuant to an order of the said Surrogate to wit: I Job Sherman of the Town of Masonville in the County of Delaware and State of New York do make and publish this my last Will and Testament. First I give and devise to my daughter Caroline all that portion of my lot lying on the west side of the road, being a part of subdivision, seven, great lot (18) eighteen of Evans Patent situated in said Town of Masonville to have and to hold the same to my said daughter her heirs and assigns forever. Said lot of land above described is supposed to contain five acres. Second I give and devise to my wife Polly the (10) remaining acres in subdivision, seven in great lot (18) of Evans Patent situate in said Town of Masonville aforesaid to have and to hold to her heirs and assigns forever. Third I give and devise to my wife Polly and my daughters Charlotte and Zillah (Zilliah [sic]) an equal undivided part of my remaining (35) thirty-five acres of land situate on Subdivision (7) seven in great lot (21) twenty-one of Evans Patent of Masonville aforesaid to have and to hold to their own proper use themselves and their heirs forever. Fourth - Provided any personal property shall be insufficent to pay my debts, then a sale of the last (35) thirty-five acres or such part as is necessary shall be sold to pay all just dues and demands which I may be owing. I do appoint my wife Polly executrix and Lewis Kentfield of the town of Masonville, County of Delaware and Sate of New York, executor of my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal publish and decree this to be my last Will and Testament in presence of the witnesses named below this (11) eleventh day of January (1860) One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty.
